Drive the 2D and 3D engineering processes and manage the tooling creation and tooling manufacturing process with a focus on lead time and quality. This person will be involved in every aspect of the development process and requires a hands-on leadership style. External Tooling - 2D/Commercialisation Manager for brought in products, e.g. eyelets. Internal Tooling for products sourced from within the group. Ensure innovation technologies and processes are implemented. Drive manufacturing efficiency improvement projects. Manage tooling creation and tooling manufacturing lead time and quality. Ensure the latest product creation technologies and processes (such as Last, VR Sample, PE, etc.) are fully understood and implemented where possible. Shorten tooling creation and manufacturing lead time with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and forecasting and planning tools.
Graduate/ Masters in any Discipline.
Tooling experience with a major footwear manufacturer or mould shop. Strong technical knowledge of tooling design, 2D and 3D engineering and manufacturing, CAD & CAM (Working knowledge of Romans and Rhino 6.0 would be ideal). Good technical footwear knowledge of product construction and manufacturing methods. Good knowledge in lean manufacturing principles, process automation. Strong project management knowledge and skill. Should be adequately knowledgeable with computer literacy.
