Position: Merchandiser (Denim Expert)

Responsibilities:

• Must have experience in Denim for leading Brands.
• Independently manage product development, understand latest fashion trends, source new yarns and develop customer specific collections.
• Sound knowledge about Fabric, Trims, Accessories, Print, Embroidery etc.
• Establish, monitor and follow-up Critical Path / Time & Action Plan Management to ensure timely shipment.
• Ensure smooth communications with customers and suppliers on day to day merchandising activities and approvals.
• The Candidate should be technically sound in Garments costing & manufacturing process.
• Make full costing, negotiation and order confirmation.
• Should have strong souring capability of Factory, Fabric, and Trims independently.
• Monitor sample development and production to meet buyer requirements.
• Fabric handling from development to garment shipment
• Advice factory/production/quality team on fabric, production, quality etc. related technical issues as efficient/experienced trouble shooter.
• Coordinate with factory team for proper & in time execution of production.
• Continuously update the knit fabrics, trims, print embroideries, washes and stitch library including technical data and price idea for easy reference
• Set priorities, develop a work schedule, and monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities
• Source trims, accessories, and fabrics (both overseas and local).
• Coordinate and monitor quality of the product through quality personnel.
• Checking & maintaining quality control report as per buyer requirements.
• Have sound knowledge of Knit fabrics and an excellent network of fabric, print, embroidery & trims suppliers.
• Should have a passion for product development, an eye for styles/details and fits.
• Must have skills in examining and establishing proper merchandising operations and procedures.
• Good understanding of core business aspects.
• Should have ideas about effective communication for raw materials booking and deliver.

Education Requirements:

• Masters in any Discipline/ B.Sc in Textile Engineering from reputed University with MBA in Apparel Merchandising.
• Preferred Professional Certification: Having a Professional Certificate added extra advantage.

• Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently.
• Ability to multi task and remain organized, meet deadlines.
