Position: Manager, Sample (Woven)

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all technical issues in sample Section and flow up sample making activity
• Provide technical advice and support to sample makers and merchandising team including Production team as well
• Capable to make accurate consumption for sample making and able fabric, trims consumption for sample
• Managing the sample development process, planning and allocating capacity in the sample room and to guide subordinates to resolve any technical issues
• Maintain sample making record and pattern accuracy records beside CAD team in accordance with guidelines from Sustainability
• Evaluate all types of sample Development, Proto, Fit, Size set, Jump size set, with a feasibility study of product & risk analysis. Timely identifying & resolving mass production impracticality.
• Handle sample inspection and sample approval by reviewing construction, measurements, patterns, workmanship, garments outlook presentation, fitting (dummy and model), on fit sample and size set
• Planning the allocation of the sample workers within the section.
• Maintain compliance documentation and cooperative activity with HR, Compliance and other team in accordance with guidelines from Sustainability department
• Ensuring that fabrics, thread and trimmings are available to produce a sample garment
• Making a daily sample production plan and setting daily production targets for each sample operators
• Having technical knowledge's of making sample garments in realistic and functional way
• Understanding of manufacturing process and experience in the use of industrial equipment
• Identifying and applying the most suitable processes to solve manufacturing problems in sample dept.
• Ensuring that good working practice is applied when using cutting, making and pressing equipment and a safe working environment is maintained for sample making activity
• Communicating with merchandiser, CAD and production personnel for maintaining records of pattern sets
• Maintaining buyer's supplier's and manufacturer's directories besides monitor and manage a sample room of sample workers, garment technicians to ensure all samples are made under customers' requirements and meet the schedule
• Responsible to evaluate and approve all samples from development, fitting, adjustment and approval
• Provide technical advice in the whole merchandising and production cycle, deliver customers' requirements to production parties on pre-production meeting.
• Able to handle paper pattern and adjustment
• Deal with foreign managements and designers for new sample development
• Experienced to handle large quantities of new style sample, able to serve multi-customers' on different standard
• Technical, design, pattern or equivalent qualification in all kind of fashions
• Provide technical advice and support to Merchandising and CAD team and Production Department on the industrialization of new design & fitting approval for newly developed styles & during bulk production
• Provide technical advice and support in pattern making, fitting and garment construction before sample delivery (perform sample inspection).
• Establish and apply the standard of fit and construction from concept through to bulk production
• Ensure pre-production sample are developed according to the established fit & quality standards as well as complying with cost specification
• Check all products for Photo shoots and Trade shows and have necessary polishing done. Make sure a repair technician checks the high end goods for scratches and any missing stones before shipping and after return
• Receive into inventory any returns and QC before reshipment of Sample room product
• Maintain accurate inventory in sample room
• Make any necessary courier arrangements to and from account for high end product
• Coordinate with Merchandising Department to maintain their Sample inventory and process the receipt of sample documents for foreign country
• Receive and process any Consignment orders. Create invoices for product not returned
• Recommend the process simplification & cost saving alternative options to the buyer
• Sealing of pre-production sample & handover style file for mass production
• To follow the principle of cost-minimizing
• Ensure the good quality of the products
• Any Other responsibility assigned by the management

Education Requirements:

Graduate in any reputed university. Educational qualification may be considered for more experienced candidate

Additional Qualification:

• Age at least 40 years
• Applicants must have experience in woven garments manufacturing experiences
• Fluent in English reading, writing and speaking.
• Should be proactive, innovative and energetic.
• Strong communication & Interpersonal skills
• Able to team work with local & foreign management
• Working under pressure
• Should have mentality to work beyond time frame.
