Job Description of Manager (Merchandising)


Job Title: Manager (Merchandising)

Responsibilities/Duties:

 

  • Introduce new Customer & overall follow-up, such as product development to shipment.

  • Meet the monthly order target and sourcing the new buyers for meeting the company goals and objectives.

  • Coordinate with Planning dept. to determine delivery schedule and sequence of implementing all order in the lines.

  • Making fruitful plans for the upcoming season's business according to product category and making a strategic business plan to support management goals.

  • Research market trend, make long-term plan for season wise yearly production.

  • Maintain good connection with renowned customers - local Buying agents & Overseas Buyers - to run the business independently to fulfil prevailing factory capacity.

  • New Buyer Developments, Costing, Product Developments, Order collection from buyer.

  • Checking the costing and pricing of the garments as well as negotiating with the buyer to reach the final acceptable price.

  • Making a Budget cost sheet for each style before Bulk execution.

  • Coordinate with sample section to ensure proper sample design for buyers, send the sample on time and follow up any comments or acceptance of that sample from buyer side within TNA date.

  •  Coordination with all Departments; Yarn procurement, Knitting, Dyeing , Fabric Store, Cutting, Sewing Production, and Finishing to ensure smooth production flow of the orders & shipment.

  • Production follow-up from fabric/accessories booking to in-housing and timely execution as per production schedule.

  • Preparing yearly Marketing Budget based on factory capacity as well as Capability.

  • Candidate must keep close liaison with buyers & Suppliers for any update of the production.

  • Co-ordinate customers/ suppliers visits and deploys resources accordingly.

  • To prepare price quotations for new orders based on customer requirement.

  • To follow with commercial department to ensure all back-to-back LCs for yarn and related accessories done in due time..

  • To prepare and maintain time and action plan and execute accordingly to maintain customer delivery date.

  • Communicate with Buyer for technical clarification, when required.

  • Ensure buyers order shipment within given deadline and time and ensure merchandisers are updating order status to buyer.

  • Follow-up technical & Compliance issues & all kinds of CAP.

  • Any other task assigned by Management from time to time.

Education

  • BSc/MSc in Textile Engineering.

Experience

  • At least 10 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    Garments, Textile

Additional Requirements

  • Age at least 35 years
  • Applicant must have well experience in knit garments.

  • Must be able to seek new buyers and expand business in new market.

  • Excellent managerial capacity & capability to manage buyers & brands and his own team.

  • Communication skills in both English and Bengali in verbal and written.

  • Quick learner, be able to cope with pressure, flexible and adaptable.

 

Location/Working Conditions:

Mention company location and may require occasional overtime or weekend work during peak periods.
